How AI will Change our Future

Time, such an abstract concept that has been understood in the theoretical frameworks of quantum physics, is no longer an esoteric topic of experience. The idea of time is being reidentified and reimagined by our modern technology as the development of artificial intelligence is reshaping the landscape of museums as a converging hub of past, present, and future. Museums - what used to be considered the venues that display archives of the past - are now transporting the audience through channels that transcend the boundaries of time.

For instance, Vincent Van Gogh is no longer a historical figure and his work posthumous; the Starry Night has become a contemporary work of art that we immerse ourselves in. A recent Van Gogh exhibit in Paris implemented AI technology to offer its patrons an immersive experience in which they could listen to Van Gogh answer their questions and walk them through his description of the masterpiece. It was almost like going on a date with Van Gogh on the Parisian streets under the stars.

Recent advancements in AI technology have transformed the structures and designs of museums. Rather than mindlessly following a human guide, trying so hard not to lose our concentration and to hear every echoed word the guide enunciates to the crowd, we can now educate ourselves on the subjects at our own pace and in an intimate space by listening to and interacting with animate historical figures recreated by the AI technology. As we have our dialogues with these figures, not only do we learn about essential historical facts, but also, we come to understand their lives in the past closely and interactively. Our relationship with the individuals from the past becomes more personal as we are now offered perspectives that help us understand them on a broader spectrum.

The world of AI is a divided terrain, in which the proponents stress what AI technology can be capable of to advance our society and the opponents criticize ethical dilemmas that intrude on our privacy and dignity. Yes, AI is a double-edged sword as it is with many other scientific and technological tools that have helped preserve our humanity and mother nature. AI is undoubtedly going to be an essential part of our future, finding its place in every element of our lives. Hence, rather than assessing and criticizing the inevitable ethicism, maximizing the benefits of the AI technology to benefit our world is certainly more fruitful. Allowing younger generations to interact with these tools will allow them to immerse themselves further in topics, thereby helping them acquire more profound and comprehensive knowledge.

Today’s youth have lived all their lives in a digital world. To help them learn effectively and meaningfully, they need to be provided with the tools and experiences that will help them visualize their subject matters and make them relatable. Let AI converge past, present, and future and make the learning experience free from time and space. A new paradigm of education is the key to responding to our dynamically changing landscape of acquiring information and knowledge.
